Baby Zena

Zena

Zena (born in September of 2025) was diagnosed with large patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) causing abnormal blood flow and significant strain on her heart. She is also severely malnourished. Thankfully, she has just been evacuated to Jordan as of May 8, 2026. Her mom was also able to bring her sister, Fatima (8). Despite this good news, her family is still in need of support. Her two youngest siblings are still in Gaza: Maria (3) & Muhammed (6). The family currently lives in a tent. The children wear worn out clothing, have no toys, and regularly do not eat nutritious meals. Zena’s older sister Fatima suffers from regular seizures. Prior to the war, she took anti-seizure medication, however, the medication has become too expensive ($150 a month, as of 4/16/26).

Abdulhadi & Siblings

Abdulhadi, Yassin, Muhammed, Fatima & Awad

Awad (10), Fatima (5), Muhammed (4), Yassin (almost 2), and Abdulhadi (born July, 2025) lived a stable and happy life before the war. They had a young sister, Zahra, born in 2018, who brought great joy to their home. Everything changed in December 2023. The family’s house was bombed, and Zahra was killed when the building collapsed. Her younger brother, Muhammed, suffered severe burns to his face. To this day, the family has been unable to recover Zahra’s body from beneath the rubble. Their mom, Hanaz, endured immense hardship during her pregnancies with Yassin and Abdulhadi, as the family faced ongoing displacement and severe food shortages. When Abdulhadi was born in northern Gaza, the siege on Gaza City was at its peak, forcing the family to flee on foot to the south in search of safety. The winter of 2025–2026 brought further suffering. Heavy rains caused their tent to collapse, leaving them with no choice but to take shelter in a damaged garage. Today, Awad, Fatima, Muhammed, Yassin, and Abdulhadi long for what every child deserves: a safe place to sleep and play, full bellies, and to learn and grow.

Eileen & Mo’taz

Eileen & Mo’taz

Mu’taz was burned during the war. He suffered 4th degree burns throughout the upper half of his body, undergoing multiple operations on his neck, back, and legs for skin grafting. Eileen was burned as she helped her mom cook over the fire. Topical ointments are needed for both children’s continued healing but they aren’t accessible due to lack of funds. The fund helped to provide them with a waterproof tent, which they have set up inside a portion of a damaged school.

Aysel & Eman

Eman & Aysel

Aysel (3) and Eman (1.5) are living in a tent with their parents, after having been displaced multiple times. Eman has suffered from malnutrition having been born during the war and has only just eaten eggs for the first time in December (2025). They need water, food, and milk and diapers for Eman. They also need tarps for the tent they have to keep out the rain (it is not waterproof).

Alma

Alma

At the time of her passing at 5 months old, Alma weighed only 5 pounds. She suffered from congenital middle lobe emphysema, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, immunodeficiency, and critical malnutrition. Interstitial lung disease is a congenital defect that like traditional emphysema causes air trapping and poor oxygen exchange. However, unlike traditional emphysema, this affects one lobe of the lungs (in Alma’s case it was the middle lobe of the right lung) which could have been removed surgically, and if successful, would have resolved her primary issue. But this required evacuation for treatment abroad. She had been scheduled for evacuation on March 2nd, but due to the conflict with Iran, Gaza’s boarders were closed on February 28th. Her mother, with bags packed, sank into despair. She and her husband, Ahmad, had lost their first daughter, Wateen, to a prolonged delay of medical evacuation for the same genetic condition. Now these parents are mourning Alma and we are with them.

Bana & Sami

Bana & Sami

Bana and her brother Sami are in need of supplemental food support. They are renting a room in a war-damaged building, where the water covers the floors when it rains. Without heat or electricity they struggle to pay the $300 per month. Their mother, Saja, just lost her pregnancy at 4 months due to malnutrition (on 2/8/26). Bana has a cyst under her arm that needs treatment via medication and occasional doctors visits and the family suffers from bacterial infections, but too often there isn’t enough money to pursue treatment.
