Support for Sami

Sami is continuing to heal and in part thanks to Joanne C. who responded quickly with a $200 donation that provided him and Bana the nutrition they were lacking. The family was running out of food when the donation came in. When I told Sami’s mom, Saja, that Joanne had sent money for her groceries, she was in despair: “I’m starting to feel hopeless. I really don’t know how I’m going to manage. I’ll go to sleep and wake up thinking about the food basket you’ll send us because we’re starting to run out of food.”

These are the pictures and video that followed:

Thank you, Joanne, for making this difference in Sami and Bana’s experience.

Nour’s Family Moves Home

Nour’s home has been reduced to rubble and her family is trying to make it inhabitable by using the one room left standing in the structure. The hope is that this will provide more coverage and relative safety than a tent that floods in rain, soaking their belongings. They are struggling to make sense of what is left of their home and belongings after the destruction.

Hind and Hanadi – Big Sisters Again

Hind and Hanadi are going to be big sisters. Their mother, Amna, is five months pregnant (as of April 2026). Unfortunately, this family has faced devastating loss. Their last child, Shaher, passed away at 5 months old due to malnutrition. We are praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy for Amna and for their family to receive enough support to keep everyone growing strong.

Sami’s Shrapnel Wound

Sami was hit in the eye by shrapnel from a nearby explosion on April 8th, 2026. Despite being taken to the doctor for treatment, his condition continues to worsen. It seems that infection that is causing his face to swell. He is on antibiotics and we are keeping tabs on how he is doing through his mother Saja, who is beside herself with worry for him.
